Hitomi Mochizuki is a Japanese contemporary artist based in Tokyo and New York City, working for multi-material such as photography, fabric and calligraphy.
She formally started training calligraphy at the age of 8, starting hand crafting, oil painting, then attended Musashino Art University Tokyo, where she mainly studied photography.
After graduation, she began a career as a graphic designer and after several years decided to pursue a career as a photographer and served at “STUDIO FOBOS”, one of the most major commercial photography studio in Tokyo. Hitomi excelled in all professional skills associated both with commercial photography and the business of art.
She had moved in the New York to expand her career opportunities by working in the advertising industry as a photographer. she published work internationally for major corporations. and her main interest remains fine arts where she combines photography with calligraphy, fabric, silk screening.
After 8 years life in NY, Hitomi has returned to her base in Tokyo and continues to create works that incorporate the unique characteristics of Japanese culture.
